To talk about Paleo cosmetics, I will first mention the Paleo diet, both because it predates Paleo cosmetics and because it makes it easier to understand the Paleo concept as such. And maybe even some of you have seen/read the Paleo diet book in Latvian. I have that on my bookshelf too, along with a few other Paleo recipe books in English.
So, first of all, we need to understand that the Paleo diet is based on foods that our ancestors probably ate in the Stone Age, when they were still chasing game and had not settled in specific places and started growing their own crops. This diet included meat and seafood, nuts and seeds, roots and tubers, fruits and berries - whatever could be found, harvested and hunted in nature. Our ancestors' diet was free of dairy products, grains and highly refined foods. This diet is considered to be the healthiest and most suitable for humans.
Like Paleo foods, Paleo cosmetics are free of synthetic chemicals, made from pure natural ingredients and are clean enough to eat (although not always tasty). No Paleo product contains soy, dairy, legumes, grains, gluten (gluten) or any artificially synthesised ingredients.
Here's a Paleo cosmetic that contains no such ingredients:
- Grain-Free;
- Legume-Free;
- Dairy-Free;
- Artificial Colouring-Free;
- Artificial Preservatives-Free;
- Artificial Sweeteners-Free;
- Artificial Flavour Enhancers-Free.
So Paleo cosmetic products have similar guidelines to the Paleo diet. They involve formulating products with healthy fats, organic plant-based ingredients and natural earth minerals that work together to care for and nourish your skin.
All based on pure and simple ingredients. Traditional cosmetic products are filled with scary chemicals and toxins that rob your skin of precious health and are absorbed into your body, affecting your internal health.
I believe that everything you put on your body should nourish and improve your skin, just like healthy food nourishes your body from the inside.
