Dry skin care

Sausas ādas kopšana

Dry skin problems can be uncomfortable and embarrassing, but a few simple steps and skin care products can help improve the skin's condition. Here are some tips on how to combat dry skin:

  • Avoid hot water: hot showers or baths can dry the skin. Try to lower the water temperature and wash with a mild, non-aggressive detergent.
  • Use a moisturiser immediately: After each bath or shower, apply moisturiser to still damp skin to maintain moisture.
  • Choose an appropriate moisturiser: Use a moisturiser that is suitable for your skin type. Creams containing ceramides, glycerin or hyaluronic acid are good for dry skin.
  • Use moisturising soaps and shower gels: Choose soaps and shower gels that are rich in moisturising ingredients and do not dry out the skin.
  • Drink plenty of water: Good hydration is also important from the inside. Drink enough water to maintain adequate moisture levels in the skin.
  • Avoid warm air: Warm radiators and hot air can dry the skin. Try to avoid really hot air flows or use humidifiers to increase the humidity level in the room.
  • Bad habits: Avoid long showers or baths and sunny and windy days outside without sunscreen.
  • Use sunscreen: Even in winter, the sun can dry out your skin. Use sunscreen if you plan to be outside for long periods.
  • Protect your skin in cold weather: Cold and windy weather can make dry skin worse. Wear sunscreen and/or wrap your face to protect your skin against the cold.
  • Check your diet: diet can affect skin health. It is important to get enough fatty acids and vitamins, which are important for skin hydration.

If your dry skin problem is severe or lasts for a long time, consult a dermatologist. They can give you personal recommendations and may be able to prescribe specific skin care products for your skin condition.
